Hot Dog Cart Job Training

Real-World Skills in a Fun, Supportive Setting

At Thornfield Hall, our The Good Dog Job Training Program offers IDD participants a chance to learn job skills in a real-world food service environment. It’s hands-on, confidence-building, and — best of all — free to participants. This program is more than selling hot dogs. It’s about learning responsibility, teamwork, and communication in a public setting — all at a pace that meets each person’s abilities. The Good Dog is located on the River Trail in Putnam and is a very popular destination.

The Good Dog Hours & Info
Our hot dog cart, The Good Dog, is open Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 11 AM to 2 PM. We welcome up to 4 participants at a time, depending on individual skill levels. Because this is a real-world job training experience, we ask that you contact us first so we can make sure it’s the right fit and set everyone up for success.

What Participants Learn:

Our mobile hot dog cart brings joy to the community and gives participants an opportunity to shine in a public-facing role. It’s job training with purpose — and a smile.

We are there Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 11am to 2pm. Stop in and check it out, or contact us to learn more.
